Free parking for Henley town centre this Christmas
Parking will be free in Henley town centre this year for three Fridays leading up to Christmas.
On Friday 10 December, Friday 17 December and Christmas Eve all three of Henley's main car parks in King's Road, Greys Road and Southfields will waiver the usual charging.
The measures have been introduced by South Oxfordshire Council to encourage shoppers to support local businesses ahead of Christmas day.
Henley Standard reports that Councillor Sue Cook has said:
"We have a great selection of independent shops offering very different and original gifts which would make perfect Christmas presents and by buying local you will be supporting your community.
“We already offer an hour’s free parking in most of our car parks but free Christmas parking days will give people more time to explore locally without having to pay any extra.
