Thames Lido - Mediterranean bliss in Caversham
Bringing Mediterranean food and atmosphere to the outskirts of Reading.
Thames Lido opened originally in 1902 and is believed the oldest surviving outdoor municipal pool of the early Edwardian era.
The pool closed to the public in 1974 but, following a four year refurbishment, thankfully reopened again in 2014.
Revamped facilities now on offer include a stunning outdoor heated 25 meter swimming pool, along with hot tub and sauna.
A poolside restaurant offers a delicious menu influenced by Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine.
Annual memberships and a variety of 'one off' swim and dine packages are available.
We highly recommend visiting, no matter what time of year, to soak up the impressive architecture, unique atmosphere and delicious food!
