Oxford named best UK staycation destination by Forbes

Oxford has surpassed York and Cambridge in recent research by Forbes into the best 2022 Autumn UK staycation destinations. 

The travel insurance firm investigated various factors across a number of UK towns and cities. These factors included prices for food, drink, transport and accommodation, and also the number of attractions and restaurants per 10,000 people. 

Forbes number crutching revealed Oxford as showing the best scores with 93.6 out of 100 

Laura Howard, Personal Finance Expert for Forbes Advisor has been quoted in Oxford Living saying: “The continued prospect of flight and airport disruptions, lingering Covid testing requirements in some popular overseas destinations, and rising living costs are just some of the many good reasons why a short break within the UK might appeal this autumn. And the good news is, our very own shores have so much to offer in terms of history, architecture, nature and scenery".
